Knight (Sarah Kemble) is born in Boston.

April 19, 1666

Sarah Kemble moves to Charlestown, becomes a school mistress, marries bricklayer Richard Knight, and then gains fame for accompanying a postal rider on a trip from Boston to New York in 1704.* After returning to Boston and the subsequent death of her husband, she sells her home and operates a public house in New Haven, where she is fined for selling rum to Native Americans in 1718. She dies in New Haven on September 25, 1727.
